Poem
Stop Me
Alexander Androv
Translated from the Bulgarian · Спри ме
Stop me, let’s run a while alone.
These drops along your legs are sweat.
Your name has been forgotten, hasn’t it?
Only our drops of sweat have merged
and trickle down onto our feet.
Stop us, let’s watch, alone,
how the two of us return into our soul
and on its round and ghostly walls
you rest the soles of your feet.
Stop yourself, we will be left alone.
These drops along our legs are sweat.
My memory, your memory
wants to bestow
the quiet smile of your children.
