Translated from the Bulgarian · Относителен покой

I will stand motionless.
They will move relative to me.
And not as an excuse or a justification,
their motion will be the truer.
For their sake, the ones who move,
I would stand without stirring
for a whole eternity.
The same eternity by which certain motions are measured.
Nine thousand instants a minute
or five hours covering some distance.
Sometimes thirty kilometres on one leg,
at other times an arrhythmic pendulum.

Yesterday, as they were passing me by,
they turned to tell me that
they were looking for some instrument with which
to measure my stillness,
because they had noticed that it
was changing, ever so quietly.
