With lost dignity
and cracked trust
I now stand facing the sun.
And I’m not on the seashore.
It isn’t beautiful. I’m losing strength.
Until I stand up again
and lean on myself.
Even sick,
even without a cracked penny
or with a cracked head.
I’ll go on again,
even if only on stubbornness
or only on love.
And I’m not on the seashore.
And it isn’t beautiful,
but I’m looking for strength.
