Poem
To My Enemy, Time
Alexander Androv
Translated from the Bulgarian · На моя враг времето
Perhaps, behind the stormy urges of my young body,
there were no hidden wisdoms handed down by countless generations,
but time will surely not change that.
Perhaps, before the faces of the many I have stood up to,
I turned my eyes away from helplessness, indifference or anger,
but time has already changed that.
Perhaps, in moments of love, I wished
that they be eternal, the way only a moment knows how,
and time truly has nothing to do with that.
