I have no bigger life.
This little one — is it enough for me?
This little life of mine,
the size of an uncut book.
The one I wanted to read,
but my courage stretched
only to shelving it.
The one I could have burned,
instead of leafing through,
instead of looking over.
I have no bigger life of mine,
no brighter, no more intriguing.
Only this little life of mine,
the size of a short song.
