Poem
Moon Marigold
Alexander Androv
Translated from the Bulgarian · Лунен невен
The moon smells of sulphur
and like sulphur it is yellow
and like sulphur it is white.
The moon is like a dog on a chain —
the sky — a kennel
the stars — the chains.
All the nights I lie awake
I turn into moon.
